Earlier this morning the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) published their report on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the 2022 year. The report states that we saw inflation rise 6.5%, and 5.7% less food and energy. This comes after the Fed’s battle to get inflation under control via multiple rate hikes throughout 2022. The Fed’s goal for inflation is 2% per year, at 6.5% there is still vast room for improvement.
